Rosie the Riveter, unlike our other featured women of history, was the fictional star of a World War II campaign. During World War II, there were gaps left by men who had enlisted and were drafted into the war. This created the need for more workers; however, men were typically the ones who worked due to outdated stereotypes. This led to the Rosie the Riveter campaign, which was meant to help recruit women into the workforce. Rosie, pictured as a strong, bandanna-clad woman, became the face of the most successful recruitment tool in American history and the most iconic image of working women in the World War II era.

Rosie’s prototype was first created in 1942 by a Pittsburgh artist named J. Howard Miller and was featured on a poster for an electric corporation under the headline “We Can Do It.” In 1943, a popular song called “Rosie the Riveter” was released by Redd Evans and John Jacob Loeb, and the name went down in history.

Between 1940 and 1945, the female percentage of the U.S. workforce increased from 27% to 37%. The aviation industry, in particular, saw the most increase in female workers. The munitions industry also saw heavy recruitment of female workers. By 1945, nearly 1 in 4 married women worked outside the home. The call for women to join the workforce was meant to be temporary, but many women stayed in the workforce even after the war. Men could no longer claim superiority over women after seeing women’s efforts during the war. Many women got a taste of freedom and independence and sought more. The impact of World War II on women changed the workplace and resulted in women’s roles continuing to expand in a postwar era. Rosie the Riveter continues to be an iconic symbol for all women, proving that we indeed can do it.

Most of our apparel is made from our signature Viscose from Bamboo, and we suggest washing them on cold/gentle cycle inside out. Lay flat to dry for optimal longevity or dry low and cool iron if needed. Follow all care tag instructions.

Viscose is know to be buttery soft and the softer the fabric, the more pilling is common — however, laying flat to dry really keeps the fabric new. Most moms prefer to line dry for optimal texture, lasting color, and to last through the life span of the item.

Due to the delicate nature of our lush fabrics, please do NOT wash with other items with zippers, buttons, or hardware. Snagging may occur. Wash separate with other babies items.

Our signature Päpook® viscose from bamboo is lightweight, breathable, and extra soft for your baby's delicate skin. Its natural weave makes it stretchy enough for a nice snug fit, yet comfortable for all-day wear.

No Harsh Chemicals
We comply with snug fitting standards to eliminate the use of flame retardant chemicals during our production process – irritants like chlorine-containing bleaches, zinc, and sulfate. So you can rest easy knowing our fabric is free of irritants and toxic treatments.

Benefits of Viscose from Bamboo
This fabric has it all. Lightweight and breathable with fibers to wick away moisture while micro-gaps aid in ventilation and heat regulation. This means you stay cooler during the summer and a few degrees warmer during the winter. This makes it great specifically for people with sensitive skin and/or allergies. It also has natural UV protection to protect your peanuts from sun rays in comfort.

NOT ALL FIBER IS CREATED EQUAL

At Posh Peanut, we do our bit towards fostering a more positive future, creating thoughtfully produced garments. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. It requires very little water and grows 3-4 feet a day without any fertilizers. We are proud to say our products are made using the highest standards in textile.

These dinosaurs are the cutest. And the colors and so vibrant. My 4 year old loves them. He’s long and skinny so I sized up to 5T/6T because the 3T/4T were pretty tight.
