Frida Kahlo was born Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo y Calerón in Coyoacán, Mexico City, Mexico on July 6, 1907.

In 1922, Frida was enrolled in a National Preparatory School, making her one of few female students. On September 17, 1925, Frida & a classmate were involved in a car accident that resulted in numerous injuries calling for several weeks of recovery. During her recovery process, she found painting & used it as an outlet for her pain.

Her personal experiences, such as her marriage to Diego Rivera, her difficulties with pregnancy, & her numerous health-issues, are what she used as inspiration for her paintings. She was not only a woman of the arts, but she was very politically involved. She would often merge both passions & paint murals for the communist revolutionary movement. Her political & artistic activities caught the eye of many, & in 1938, Frida had her first major exhibition in the New York City gallery, where she sold about half of the 25 paintings shown there. Frida was invited by Andre Breton, a French writer, to live in Paris, France, in 1939. Kahlo moved to Paris & exhibited some of her paintings & quickly became friends with other artists, including Pablo Picasso. Shortly after arriving in Paris, The Louvre purchased her painting "The Frame," making it the first artwork by a 20th-century Mexican artist ever purchased by the internationally renowned museum.

In 1953, Kahlo received her first solo exhibition in Mexico. She was bedridden at the time, but that did not stop her from being there at the exhibition's opening. She arrived by ambulance & had a bed set up in the gallery to be there. This would be one of her last public appearances before her unfortunate passing on July 13, 1954, at 47.

Frida Kahlo's work broke many gender barriers & continues to inspire many artists to break stereotypes & change the status quo.

Most of our apparel is made from our signature Viscose from Bamboo, and we suggest washing them on cold/gentle cycle inside out. Lay flat to dry for optimal longevity or dry low and cool iron if needed. Follow all care tag instructions.

Viscose is know to be buttery soft and the softer the fabric, the more pilling is common — however, laying flat to dry really keeps the fabric new. Most moms prefer to line dry for optimal texture, lasting color, and to last through the life span of the item.

Due to the delicate nature of our lush fabrics, please do NOT wash with other items with zippers, buttons, or hardware. Snagging may occur. Wash separate with other babies items.

Our signature Päpook® viscose from bamboo is lightweight, breathable, and extra soft for your baby's delicate skin. Its natural weave makes it stretchy enough for a nice snug fit, yet comfortable for all-day wear.

No Harsh Chemicals
We comply with snug fitting standards to eliminate the use of flame retardant chemicals during our production process – irritants like chlorine-containing bleaches, zinc, and sulfate. So you can rest easy knowing our fabric is free of irritants and toxic treatments.

Benefits of Viscose from Bamboo
This fabric has it all. Lightweight and breathable with fibers to wick away moisture while micro-gaps aid in ventilation and heat regulation. This means you stay cooler during the summer and a few degrees warmer during the winter. This makes it great specifically for people with sensitive skin and/or allergies. It also has natural UV protection to protect your peanuts from sun rays in comfort.

NOT ALL FIBER IS CREATED EQUAL

At Posh Peanut, we do our bit towards fostering a more positive future, creating thoughtfully produced garments. Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. It requires very little water and grows 3-4 feet a day without any fertilizers. We are proud to say our products are made using the highest standards in textile.

These dinosaurs are the cutest. And the colors and so vibrant. My 4 year old loves them. He’s long and skinny so I sized up to 5T/6T because the 3T/4T were pretty tight.
